Entry Requirements
A mature person who has worked in IT and /or computing who, after interview, is assessed as being able to study at this level.
OR Minimum UCAS points score of 80 to include:
A level (A2 / Advanced GCE) in a computing subject;
OR
A level (A2 / Advanced GCE) in another subject plus AS in a computing subject or interest in IT and computing;
OR
BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in IT or computing;
OR
AVCE (Double award) ICT at DD or single award plus other A level qualifications
AND
Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above or Key Skills Communication and Application of Number at Level Two or equivalent levels of attainment given the nature of the award.
OR
Employees with IT Modern Apprentice at Level 3
OR
Equivalent qualifications level 3 qualifications, e.g. NVQ level 3 using IT
OR
Access to H.E. certificate.
AND
An Interview for all applicants
Language entry requirements
The University accepts the following minimum English language standards for entry to its degree courses.
You must have at least one of the following standards in English to enter a degree or diploma course:
An IELTS score of 6.0, or a TOEFL score of 550 (or 213 for the computer-based test)
Pearson PTE Academic score of 54
A pass in the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) examination
A pass in the Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) examination
GCSE/GCE O Level grade C or equivalent British-based examination
For selected countries, a good pass in English in the final year of secondary school (this being the equivalent of year 13 in England and Wales), or
Any other equivalent qualification recognised by the British Council (as listed in the British Council NARIC Guide) or an equivalent body
For entry to the BA (Hons) English Language and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) programmes, you will need a score of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, since this is a special award which includes an international qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
For entry on to PhD programmes you will need a score of:

Curriculum
You will study a range of practical networking subjects concentrating on the technical skills required by industry.
Your course will focus on the employability skills required in the Computing industry, and in addition you will also gain the academic skills required for degree level work.
