Curriculum

Human Biology is not all just about us. You’ll also examine what impact we have on other life processes, such as animal and plant communities, and why humans succumb to infection.

Over the years, we’ve built up a wealth of experience on our biology courses, so we can now offer an impressively wide range of subject options from which you can choose.

As with our other bioscience undergraduates, your first year will cover the basics - essential chemistry, cell biology, biochemistry and human anatomy, and physiology.

This thorough grounding ensures you get the most out of the rest of the course. At the end of the first year, you’ll have the option to transfer to another degree course, depending on the disciplines on which you want to concentrate.

In year two, you tackle two core modules, the biology of disease and cellular biochemistry. This leaves you free to choose from a wide range of options, including infection and immunity and immunology.

Because you’ve got very flexible options, it means your choice of a final-year research project is also very wide.
