Academic Entry Requirements

  • A Level: BCC (excluding Critical Thinking and General Studies)

  • IB Diploma: 24 points overall

  • STPM: BC+C+ (excluding Pengajian Am)

  • UEC: 3 B3s and 2 B4s (excluding Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese Language)

  • Australian Year 12: ATAR 78 (consideration for relevant subjects)

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD): 75% average across 6 subjects

  • Other Canadian Secondary Diplomas: Assessed based on University’s requirements

  • Gaokao (China): 68% average in Gaokao; 70% overall and 80% in Mathematics in Senior High School Diploma

  • CBSE / CISCE (India) - Class XII: 75% average from best 4 subjects (excluding local language, Environmental Education, general studies, Physical Education)

  • Advanced Placement (AP): Scores of 4, 3, 3 in relevant subjects

  • Diploma (Local Institutions): Entry to Year 2 assessed case-by-case, minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 with good relevant grades

  • Foundation (Local Institutions): Requires minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 and strong relevant subject grades

  • Nottingham’s Foundation Programme: Successful completion with mathematics requirement met

Mathematics Requirement:
Applicants must have at least a Grade B in Mathematics at SPM/GCSE/IGCSE/High School level. This may be waived with Grade C or above in Mathematics at a higher level.

English Language Requirements

  • IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no less than 6.0 in each element)

  • TOEFL iBT: 90 overall

    • Writing & Listening: minimum 19

    • Reading: minimum 20

    • Speaking: minimum 22

  • PTE Academic: 71 overall (no less than 65 in each element)

  • GCE A/AS Level English: Grade C

  • SPM: CEFR level B2

  • GCSE O-Level / IGCSE (First Language): Grade C / 4

  • IGCSE (Second Language): Grade B / 6

  • MUET: Band 4.5

  • UEC: Grade A2

  • IB English:

    • A1 or A2 (SL or HL): 4 points

    • B (HL): 4 points

    • B (SL): 5 points

  • OSSD English (ENG3U/ENG4U): 75% (only if all 30 credits from standard courses; no fast-track or exemptions)

  • CBSE/CISCE English (Class X or XII): 75% overall

    • Must provide confirmation letter stating English was the medium of instruction from Class X–XII
