Multimedia University (MMU) is a higher education institution governed by Universiti Telekom Sdn Bhd (UTSB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of TM. It fulfills the noble responsibility of corporate social responsibility, taking on the challenge of educating the next generation, national leaders, and knowledge workers. As Malaysia's first private university, MMU has developed a pioneering model for the successful formation of private colleges in the country, paving the way for the growth of the private higher education sector. As a university at the heart of the MSC, MMU also serves as a catalyst for the development of the nation's high-tech ICT industry, aligning with the Silicon Valley-Stanford model in the United States.

Growing to over 20,000 students in a mere 12 years, MMU has achieved much in a relatively short time. The university operates two campuses, its original campus in the historic city of Melaka, and the campus in Cyberjaya opened by former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed. It has produced 22,820 graduates to date, with a recent survey indicating a 93% job security guarantee within 6 months of completing their studies. It has also cultivated an impressive pool of international students numbering 4,200 from 75 countries. Establishing itself as a major player in research and development, and fostering good relationships with industry through research collaborations and partnerships, MMU now hosts 13 Research Centers to date, focusing on areas such as nanotechnology, microsystems, biometrics, virtual reality, microwave and telecommunications engineering, photonics, advanced robotics, and business.
