Doctor in Restorative Dentistry
About
Through interactive learning sessions and clinical training, the three-year Doctor in Restorative Dentistry (DrResDent) clinical course work program aims to effectively integrate information from the domains of prosthodontics, endodontics, and periodontics. By applying the extensive knowledge they have gained from this program, the students will be better equipped to treat patients holistically. Additionally, through independent research, the candidate will create an original research project that will be formally reported in a thesis, manuscript ready for submission, or published paper.
A one-year Master of Orofacial Sciences degree, with a required elective in restorative dentistry, or its equivalent, is required for this program. Under the Malaysian Dental Act of 2018, graduates of this specialised training program—which consists of a one-year Master's degree and a three-year Doctorate—will be eligible to register as experts in restorative dentistry.
