About
MAHSA University offers a three-year curriculum called the Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health that prepares students for a career in the sector. This program was created in response to the government's ongoing efforts to prevent and lessen workplace illnesses and industrial accidents, as well as the growing need for safety and health professionals. In order to manage and enhance workers' health and well-being in many industries and workplaces, occupational safety and health professionals are required. This is crucial for enhancing organisational morale, productivity, efficiency, and compliance with laws.
The Occupational Safety and Health Diploma is designed to meet the demands of many organisations and industries, both now and in the future. By producing capable graduates who are well-rounded and possess the soft skills and attitudes needed to lead the constantly changing OSH landscape, MAHSA University has taken a step towards imagining the national and worldwide vision of the current and future industrial revolution. Entry Requirements
Any one of these:
- SPM: Possess Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with a pass in English at the SPM level and THREE CREDITS in the following subjects:
- Mathematics and ONE Science subject (Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Science); and
- Any other ONE subject.
- SKM/SVM: A pass in Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 / Sijil Vokasional Malaysia (SVM) in the relevant field. Note: Higher Education Providers (HEPs) need to conduct specific screening and guidance related to the field of the program for these students.
- Certificate (MQF Level 3): A Certificate (Level 3, Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in the relevant field with at least a CGPA of 2.00.
- STPM: A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with at least a Grade C (GP 2.0) in any subject.
- STAM: A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with at least Grade Maqbul.
- Other Qualifications: Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.
Additional Requirements for options 3 - 5: A pass in English AND a credit in Mathematics and ONE Science subject (Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Science) at the SPM level or equivalent qualifications. Refer to the notes below.
English Language Requirement (International Students):
- Minimum Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) OR equivalent to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) (High B1)
Notes:
- Requirements for English, Mathematics, and Science subjects at the SPM level (or equivalent) can be waived if other higher qualifications contain these subjects with an equivalent or higher achievement.
- Malaysian students using English as the medium of instruction in their previous studies or with at least Band 2 in MUET (or equivalent) can be exempted from the English requirement.
- Students without a credit in Mathematics and/or Science subjects at the SPM level (or equivalent) can be admitted but are required to attend special enhancement course(s). These special enhancement courses should be SPM equivalent, remedial in nature. Students must pass the Mathematics and Science subject enhancement courses as a prerequisite to the related core courses.
- The English subject requirement does not apply to international students since they are required to meet certain scores of international English examinations and are privileged with certain exemptions.
