About
The highly skilled Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) Public Health program at MAHSA University is intended for students who have earned an Advanced Diploma in Midwifery and a Nursing Diploma or Degree, or similar credentials. According to the Nursing and Midwifery Boards of Malaysia, a public health nurse is a registered nurse, registered midwife, and registered public health nurse.
In the highly specialised fields of obstetrics and gynaecology, the broader scope of family health and primary healthcare, including maternal and child health, health sciences, behavioural sciences, and research and innovation, this work-based curriculum offers training and particular clinical exposures. After completing the program, students will be approved by the Nursing Board Malaysia and registered as public health nurses under the supplemental clause of the Registration for Nurses (Nurses Act 1950).

Entry Requirements
Diploma:
- Possess a Diploma in Nursing or its equivalent
- Minimum three (3) months working experience in public health
- Possess a Post Basic in Midwifery
- Registered with Nursing Board Malaysia
- Possess a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
Or
- Possess a Diploma in Nursing or its equivalent
- Possess a Post Basic in Public Health Nursing
- Registered with Nursing Board Malaysia
- Possess a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
International Qualification:
- Possess a Diploma in Nursing or its equivalent
- Registered with the Nursing Council or Board of the country of origin
- Possess a Post Basic in Public Health Nursing or Midwifery subject to approval of the Selection Committee of the University
- Possess a current Temporary Practicing Certificate (TPC) from the Nursing Board Malaysia before clinical placement.
English Proficiency Requirements:
- IELTS: 5.5 or
- TOEFL: 550 or
- English language as the medium of instruction
