Entry Requirements

- GCE A-level English: B
- GCE AS-level English: A

- Pearson's PTE (Academic): 73 overall, minimum 64 in any band and 70 in writing
- Cambridge CAE (Certificate in Advanced English): B, no less than good in all elements
- Cambridge CAE and CPE: 191 overall, no less than 185 in all elements
- Cambridge Overseas School Certificate (COSC): Grade 1

- Non-Literary Sources for Ancient History
- Two historical topics

Third year
- Dissertation
Four special subjects, eg:
- Pompeii
- Spoils and Iconoclasm
- Responses to Empire
- Memory, Myth and History
- Configurations of Gender
- Ecology and History in the Ancient World.
