Bachelor of Science (Hons) Applied Mathematics with Computing

This programme equips students with the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to tackle complex challenges using mathematical modeling and computational techniques. By integrating subjects such as partial differential equations, ordinary differential equations, and statistics, it enables students to harness the power of mathematical models in analyzing real-world phenomena.

Given the increasing volume of data that analysts handle, the curriculum emphasizes programming proficiency, simulation techniques, and computational problem-solving methods. Recognizing the importance of interdisciplinary expertise, the programme also includes modules on professional writing and presentation skills, ensuring that graduates can effectively communicate their ideas in both technical and professional settings.

• STPM: Grade C in 2 relevant subjects + Credit in SPM Mathematics.
• A-Level: Grade D in 2 subjects + Credit in SPM Mathematics.
• UEC: Grade B in 5 relevant subjects (incl. Mathematics).
• SAM: ATAR 70 + Grade B in 2 relevant subjects (incl. Mathematics) OR Credit in SPM Mathematics.
• CPU: 70% in 2 relevant + 4 other subjects (incl. Mathematics) OR Credit in SPM Mathematics.
• IB Diploma: 24 points min. (excluding bonus) + Credit in SPM Mathematics.
• Foundation (UTAR & others): CGPA ≥ 2.00 + Credit in SPM Mathematics.
• Matriculation (Science Stream): CGPA ≥ 2.00 + Credit in SPM Mathematics.
• Diploma (Level 4, MQF): CGPA ≥ 2.50 (if <2.50, subject to interview).
• Other Qualifications: Recognised by the Malaysian Government.

English Language Requirement:

• Malaysian Applicants (STPM / UEC / others not fully in English): Credit in SPM English / Grade C in O-Level English / Grade B in UEC English / MUET Band 3 / IELTS 5.0 / TOEFL 40(iBT) or 7.5(Essentials) / PTE 47 / Cambridge English 154/100(OET) / ELS CIEP Level 107.
• Malaysian Applicants (A-Level, SAM, CPU or fully English-taught qualifications): Must have a pass in SPM English or equivalent.
• Malaysian Applicants (not meeting the above): Must take the English Enhancement Programme (Levels 7 & 8) before starting degree.
