About
The three-year doctorate degree and the doctor of dental surgery are connected via the Master of Orofacial Sciences curriculum. Enrolment in the Doctorate program requires completion of this one-year study. In order for graduates to be registered as dental specialists in their chosen speciality under the Malaysian Dental Act of 2018, they must complete a three-year doctoral program in addition to a one-year master's program.
This master's program gives prospective dental lecturers or local private practitioners the chance to advance their knowledge in a field that interests them. The research project will be a small study based on basic fieldwork, introductory laboratory experiments, or the straightforward collection of clinical data towards a clinical audit outcome. The results of the research may be presented as scientific reports or mini-dissertations.
