Entry Requirements
- A Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy
- NVQ 1 Certificate in HairdressingRelevant experience
- Be enthusiastic, committed and willing to learn
- Have a calm, caring personality and well-groomed appearance
Notes:
- You will be expected to purchase kit, uniform and books, costing approximately £220 (subject to change).
- Once you have applied for the course, you will be invited in for an interview.
Curriculum
You will study all aspects of hairstyling, including :
- Cutting
- Colouring
- Blow-drying
- Setting hair of various types and lengths
- Client consultation
- Reception work
- Hair and scalp treatments
- Health and safety
The course is assessed through a blend of the following:
- Portfolio of practical assessments for each unit
- Assignments and tasks
- Multiple-choice tests covering the underpinning knowledge
- Your behaviour will also count towards your assessment, in terms of maturity, development, interaction and communication.
